Leeds Castle's riveting history, from serving six of England's medieval queens, to its elaborate transformation into an elegant 20th-century retreat by Anglo-American heiress, Lady Baillie. Throughout the interiors of the castle, Maiden's Tower and Battel Hall, the wedding party is welcomed to architectural and interior excellence, from 16th -century period design, to original 1930s masterpieces showcased throughout the castle.

Home to mesmerising historical gardens and architectural landscapes filled with dazzling beauty, of which perfectly lend themselves to all seasons, making it an ideal destination weddings. The Princess Alexandra Gardens is massed in banks of azaleas that bring extraordinary colour, while tall bamboo brings out the oriental feel in the Oriental Garden, and blooming magnolia will enhance and delight your senses.

The Lady Baillie Mediterranean Garden Terraces evokes sun-drenched European countries, full of succulent and architectural plants. This garden is particularly restful with benches to view the Great Water and acres of parkland and beyond.

The fragrant Culpeper Gardens is filled with beautiful florals, hedges and herbaceous beds, bringing a sense of tranquillity and is visited often by local wildlife. The wedding couple will be captivated by the landscape of the wider parkland, perfectly framing our exotic and glamorous castle.

The Castle

Historical, stately and captivating, the castle boasts beautiful and magnificent state rooms. Guests will arrive to the grand view of Leeds Castle rising majestically above the moat, before entering the newly refurbished Ceremony Room. Take in the natural daylight floods that through the beautiful long French windows, and the soft pastel colours around the room, which brings a sense of tranquillity.

A banquet-style wedding breakfast will be served in the largest room in the castle, the Salon. This room was historically used by Lady Baillie and her esteemed guests of the silver screen, society's finest and leading influencers, as they partied the night away at lavish weekend parties in the 1930s. The Salon features breathtaking views across the scenic moat onto the flourishing parklands, a grand 16th -century French Caen stone fireplace, and magnificent ebony flooring, making for a stunning backdrop to your celebrations.

After the toasts, laughs and happy tears, you will head to the opulent 1930s castle Drawing Rooms, before continuing the wedding festivities with dancing and singing the night away. As the party slows down and carriages arrive for guests, retire to your luxurious Castle bedroom for the night.

Maiden's Tower
Ceremony: 80 Wedding breakfast: 80 Reception: 100

Elegant, glamorous and historical, the Maiden's Tower is an exclusive-use venue adjacent to the castle. This 16th-century stone building, previously used for weekend house parties in the 1930s, is now a glamorous self-contained venue perfect for ceremonies, evening celebrations and overnight accommodation.

Rumour has it, the Maiden's Tower was used by Catherine of Aragon's maid-of-honours during her wedding to King Henry VIII. The venue consists of two wedding rooms with French doors leading onto a charming private garden, and boasts five en suite guest rooms, all beautifully decorated in period style with a contemporary twist, offering views across the moat to the golf course and surrounding parkland.

Battel Hall
Ceremony: 14 Wedding breakfast: 14

Enchanting, luxurious and intimate, built in the early 14th-century as a Medieval manor, Battel Hall is a fine and rare example of local Kentish architecture of the period. This large and comfortable manor house, full of character and historical features, is ideal for small weddings. Say 'I do' in the beautiful Ceremony Room, featuring rich wood-panelling, and move on into the drawing room or library, both wonderfully traditional rooms for entertaining guests.

Upstairs five luxurious en suite guest bedrooms offer stunning views of the gardens, the far North Downs and glimpses of Leeds Castle. The adjacent grade two listed Battel Hall Oast offers a further bathroom and two bedrooms.

Battel Hall is a venue for all season weddings, with cosy sofas and open fires to warm the winter nights. In the spring and summer months, a beautiful 100-year-old wisteria smothers the exterior walls with perfumed blooms. Doors from the library lead onto extensive gardens and woodland area. For charming outdoor summer weddings, hold your ceremony under the timber-framed garden pagoda.

The Fairfax Barn
Evening reception capacity: 100 to 200 - available from 4pm until midnight

Rustic, charming and chic, The Fairfax Barn is a 17th-century Kentish timber-framed barn, idyllic for rustic barn wedding receptions for those getting married in the Castle or Maiden's Tower, looking to celebrate with larger numbers in the evening. Offering spectacular views of the Castle, your wedding party and guests will gather on outside on the large terrace, ideal for celebrating on a fine seasonal evening. The wedding couple and party can enjoy stunning wedding photographs taken in the grounds and gardens while your guests enjoy the hospitality of our staff and evening entertainment.

Marquees
Evening reception capacity: 200 + Lavish, breathtaking and memorable, if you're looking to host a larger reception, look towards our exceptional marquee weddings. Invite more than 200 guests to celebrate with you in the spectacular grounds of Leeds Castle. The Cedar Lawn, with impressive views of the estate and glamorous castle nestled amidst the moat, will be the idyllic location for your marquee wedding. This is a photogenic spot to take wedding portraits and will form a perfect backdrop to celebrations.

From the wedding coordinators to complimentary upgrades to the bridal suite, as well as food and drink tastings, Leeds Castle offer a bespoke approach to working with couples.
There are other special services supplied, charged at an additional rate, including the unique Owl Ring Delivery, where our majestic birds of prey will elegantly swoop down the aisle to present the couple with their wedding rings, as well as the use of golf buggy's perfect for unique wedding photos.
