The Great Thatched Barn interior

The Great Thatched Barn at new wedding venue Falmer Court dates back to the mid-13th century and is nestled in the beautiful Sussex Downs. Primarily a film and photographic studio, this gorgeous location is now offering limited weddings and civil ceremonies each year and already has only a handful of dates left for 2022.

Drenched in romance, the Medieval charm of Falmer Court’s Great Thatched Barn delivers the perfect atmosphere for a wedding and is reputed to be one of the largest structures of its kind in the British Isles. With its soaring timbered roof, cross beamed and vast cathedral-like interior, it really does offer a show-stopping spot to say “I do.”

Whether you choose to exchange vows in the barn or outdoors in the grounds, once married you’ll have the opportunity to wander through the landscaped gardens for those all- important photos. Guests meanwhile, head to the reception hosted in the grounds’ elegant stretch tent with space for 200 of your nearest and dearest. The venue’s team are on hand to design all the details of your day, from the flow of spaces through to your wedding breakfast with sustainably-sourced food and expertly selected wines.
