The Anchor Inn at Barcombe offers you the ideal setting for your wedding day. Set in th heart of the Sussex countryside overlooking the River Ouse with beautiful surroundings it makes a wonderful country wedding venue.
The Anchor has a licence to offer Civil Ceremonies in our Longford Room or cater only for the reception party, from our famous hog roasts, buffets to sit down meals. Offering boating facilities for the wedding party on the River Ouse, beautiful gardens, fields and a stylish marquee which caters for up to 160 seated guests. It is possible to have both
the wedding ceremony and the reception on the premises which has been approved by East Sussex County Council for the solemnization of marriages in pursuance of section 26(1)(bb) of the Marriage Act 1949.
Ceremonies can only be held in our "Longford Room" seating 35 guests, although it is possible to hold a blessing with many more guests in the grounds. The heated marquee is available or functions from 40 to 160 seated guests. It is beautifully lined with ivory drapes and comes with carpeted flooring and a dance floor, ample power points and all
furniture. It is positioned in the rear garden which provides riverside seating for guests on the decking. The boating facilities also offer an excellent feature for your day. This can be done by the hour and we have enough boats for 160 peole to be on the water at any one time. The boats can be decorated and reserved for use by your guests.
We have a beautiful self contained riverside lodge, set on its own private decking which sleeps up to 5 people and makes a great base for your stay. Guests are welcome to camp in the adjoning field free of charge. The same field can be used to make your day as individual as you like. with country fete type stalls or games. bonfire parties, bouncy castles or fairground ideas.
We pride ourselves on providing individually tailored weddings, with a varied menu including buffets, onsite spitroast an barbeques and three course meals with facilities in the marquee or garden. We have accommodation and ample parking.
