Get away from it all at Hydro Hotel, Eastbourne

Exterior of Hydro Hotel in Eastbourne with a wedding car parked outside Opened in 1885 as a seaside retreat, Hydro Hotel has continued to welcome guests for over 100 years. Retaining its Victorian look and Art Deco entrance and lobby the venue benefits from a light and airy feel with large open lounges and high ceilings. Located in a commanding elevated position 120 feet above sea level, a real highlight is the uninterrupted sea views from several of the function rooms and conservatory.

The Coastal Terrace is an outdoor open-sided stone dome with capacity for 80 loved ones located in the hotel’s private gardens overlooking the sea. It’s beautiful position also makes it ideal for a post-vow drinks reception. Indoor spaces include The Wedgewood Ballroom on the first floor, which boasts a private balcony. It features the gorgeous blue colour palette synonymous with Wedgewood and has a private bar and reception area. It can accommodate 100 for the “I dos,” 70 for a wedding breakfast and 100 for an evening reception. Also available for ceremonies is The Drawing Room – an elegant space with a high ceiling and fine art. Found on the ground floor it can host 50 for the vows.

Receptions can also take place in The Garden Suite. A large and spacious function room offering views across the gardens and sea with an outdoor terrace, dancefloor, bar, and PA system. Plus, its contemporary, neutral colour scheme allows you to add your own personal touches. For intimate celebrations, The Orangery is a bright and airy atrium with lovely views able to host 30 for a wedding breakfast and evening bash. Furthermore, The Meads Room is available for seated dining for 18 and permitted evening guest list of 20.

The bridal suite will be available to you at the end of a long but joyous day. It was refurbished in 2020 and features a separate lounge, bedroom and bathroom.
