Providing an oasis of calm, guests to the four bedroomed cottage can escape the everyday and relax in the private seclusion of their very own hideaway. On the cusps of the South Downs National Park in West Sussex, The Bothy welcomes families, groups and furry friends, for a home-from-home experience. Luxurious furnishings, modern decoration and handsome interiors are complemented by a secluded garden, along with private parking.

Completely self-contained, the cottage provides a kitchen, dining and living area, complete with a cosy wood burning stove, as well as four double bedrooms each with their own en-suite bathroom. One bedroom even houses a very special dog den for four-legged friends to rest their heads. Every detail has been finely considered, and seamlessly replicates the atmosphere of the nearby main hotel, which blends country charm with modern luxury, giving guests the most idyllic space to unwind and enjoy quality time together.

For those looking to explore the local area, perhaps with their four-legged friends, there is plenty to see right on their doorstep, with 93 acres of gardens, lakes, woodland and parkland within South Lodge’s grounds. A little further afield, a 20-minute drive takes you to the South Downs National Park, with numerous walking routes to discover, or if a day at the seaside takes your fancy, the bustling town of Brighton is just a 30-minute drive south.

Quietly positioned in the leafy estate, yet close to the five-star hotel’s fantastic facilities, The Bothy cottage is just a short ride in the hotel’s quirky tuk tuk taxi to The Spa at South Lodge. Newly built in 2019, The Spa (Best New Spa, Good Spa Guide Awards 2019) is a wonderful place to relax, rejuvenate and reconnect with its range of expertly designed fitness facilities, treatment rooms and swimming pools, including a natural wild outdoor swimming pool. 

The Bothy cottage is the perfect place to book for the night before a wedding with plenty of space to relax and prepare for the big day. Guests can pre-book The Salon team from The Spa to come to the cottage to get hair and makeup applied in the privacy of the cottage. 

Guests to The Bothy cottage are welcome to self-cater with the fully equipped Shaker style kitchen. However, a private chef and waiter can be booked in advance to prepare and serve dinner in the dining room, which can seat up to eight guests. Alternatively, guests can dine in one of the three hotel restaurants; Tom Kemble at The Pass which offers tasting menus for guests to enjoy whilst overlooking the heart of the kitchen, Camellia restaurant offering fine dining with views out over the South Downs and the newest addition at South Lodge, Botanica, situated in The Spa offering an innovative focus on plant-based dishes.

One-night stays at The Bothy cottage are from £1,380, based on eight people sharing the four-bedroomed property, with breakfast or brunch the next day. An additional £50 applies for dogs to stay for the duration.
