West Dean Gardens, Chichester
West Dean Gardens in West Sussex is thought to be one of the greatest restored gardens in England, offering an abundance of idyllic photo opportunities. Set within the South Downs National Park, the Gardens are steeped in history, dating back to 1622. The great thing is you and your guests will have full access to explore them including the Walled Kitchen Garden and recently restored Victorian Glasshouses. You'll all be wowed by the Spring Garden's fibreglass surrealist tree sculptures and Regency flint bridges. The award-winning Sunken Garden and the neighbouring 300-foot Edwardian Pergola are adorned with gorgeous varieties of magnolia, clematis, rose and honeysuckle – a feast for the senses. Receptions for up to 200 can be held in a marquee or tipi on the picnic lawn or front lawn. Plus, the grand state rooms in West Dean House are ideal for rehearsal dinners, breakfasts and lunches with your wedding party. Glittering chandeliers and walls graced with original artwork provide a warm and elegant space with a real sense of occasion. Bed and breakfast accommodation is available in the House and Old Vicarage.
