Birth announcement from Amberley Castle

Resident peacocks Bob & Lilly become proud parents to four chicks! There's good news from Amberley Castle, as it is announced that its resident peacocks, Bob and Lilly, have welcomed the arrival of four beautiful peacock chicks. Born at the start of September, the peachicks are all doing well and have been spotted by guests and staff as they take their first steps out into the castle gardens. Following the birth of the couple's first peachicks in August 2018, Amberley Castle's general manager Piers Vowles is hoping for a girl amongst the mix this time, commenting, "Male peacocks are territorial, so despite us hugely enjoying having an expanded pride a couple of years ago, once the four male chicks reached adulthood, they had to leave us for a new life on a nearby farm, leaving Bob once more to rule his roost! We've got plenty of time to enjoy all these new chicks though, before we see how many boys or girls we have, once they are around a year old".... read more

Bridalwear trends with Blessings of Brighton

Bridalwear trends with Blessings of Brighton

Blessings of Brighton is a family-run bridal boutique, established in 1994. It offers creative and attentive bridal appointments, which sadly have had to slow down during the pandemic, allowing far less brides through the door at one time and reducing the amount of dresses tried on in one day. In order to work within safety guidelines the team is asking brides to pre-select the designs they want to try prior to their appointment, which has proven to work incredibly well. This allows the consultants time to focus on the overall desired look each bride is looking to achieve for their special day. We caught up with owner Karen Hackett, to discover her top bridalwear trends for 2021. Read on to find out what she had to say.... read more
