Set on a working farm in the stunning West Sussex countryside, the converted farm buildings and beautiful landscaped gardens at Southend Barns are built and run using the latest environmentally sustainable technology.

The lovingly restored barn complex features a magnificent 200-year-old Threshing Barn, which radiates rustic charm with authentic wooden beams and iron wrought chandeliers. This combined with stylish contemporary touches, such as the concrete polished floor make the barn an ideal venue for any wedding party. The Threshing Barn can seat 120 diners, and 200 guests can attend for the evening reception at boasts picturesque views.

Sitting adjacent to this is the simple but romantic Dairy Barn, holding up to 120 loved ones to watch couples exchange their vows. With a wonderful sweeping 22-metre aisle, exposed wooden beams and benches made of sweet chestnut, the wedding barn is an idyllic setting it can also be used after the wedding ceremony for a drinks reception or transformed into an entertainment room for the children.

There is ample outdoor space with a picturesque courtyard that lies at the heart of the venue, with its luscious lawn, well-kept pots and Cornish slate patio lined with dairy inspired milk churns – it's the perfect spot for photographs and for mingling with guests over drinks and canapés.
As evening falls, the gardens are lit with romantic up-lights that show off the fantastic flint and log walls of the wedding barns. Here guests can gather around the relaxing Collecting Yard with its sumptuous sofas and fire pits to enjoy a truly magical evening setting; the perfect end to a perfect day.

The Collecting Yard is a beautiful addition to the venue. Guests can gather around the yard with its sumptuous sofas and fire pits to enjoy a truly magical evening setting. Scattered with lanterns, baskets of blankets and jars of marshmallows for toasting on the fire pit, the Collecting Yard is popular with guests of all ages.
There is also a Milking Parlour that can be used as the groom’s quarters or for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready in before the wedding ceremony. Couples can also use the suite to have a little privacy throughout the day and are welcome to stay the night if they should wish. Once used as a dairy parlour it has now been revamped with contemporary interiors complete with driftwood mirrors, lavish rugs and log fire, which is lit and ready for your return with a bottle of bubbly.

Located just half a mile up the road from the barns is The Blacksmiths pub, which is also owned by Southend Barns owners Mariella and William Fleming. As well as its three en-suite bedrooms the pub offers pre-wedding breakfasts or drinks for the bridal party or a delicious brunch with friends and family the next day.
