The Spire – Brighton's answer to the Asylum

The Spire – Brighton's answer to the Asylum

Tucked in the heart of Kemp Town, Brighton, lies a hidden gem of a wedding venue: The Spire. Built in 1849 and formally known as St Marks Chapel, The Spire hosts community events, theatre events, meetings, conferences and…. weddings!

The Spire offers a wonderful blank canvas for creative couples, like the Asylum in London (a hugely sought-after venue for boho, arty or statement weddings), you can’t help but be inspired by the dishevelled paint and quirky features: the stained-glass windows let in an abundance of colourful natural light and the large, medieval-inspired front doors make for a dramatic entrance. The main hall lends itself to a variety of layouts and can accommodate wedding parties of up to 300. The venue is not licensed for ceremonies, but celebrant-led nuptials are welcomed, catering and a bar can be offered, and hire includes a wedding coordinator.

Beverly Seal of QQW Weddings, says, “I have joined forces with The Spire to help to inspire quirky couples to celebrate their special day within its walls. The Spire can be hired at any time in the year and is available both weekdays and weekends.

“I also teamed up with imaginative suppliers to show how to create a special setting in this open, hauntingly beautiful space. Check out the amazing results in these photos.”
