October/November 2020

Welcome with open arms to another digital edition of Your Sussex Wedding. Well, I think we can all safely say that 2020 hasn’t been the year any of us were expecting, but it’s certainly showed us what we’re all made of. Now, with our beloved weddings firmly back on the agenda, I’m thrilled to see my inbox bursting with readers’ big days once more. So, whether you’ve decided to press ahead with your own, adapted to meet safety guidelines, or you’ve opted to hold fast in favour of a bigger bash, we hope you’ll find inspiration aplenty amongst these pages. There’s never been a right or wrong way when it comes to weddings, and now more than ever you must do what feels best for the two of you.

Dive into this issue for your regular dose of wedding joy. We have three of our readers’ gorgeous big days to share with you from page 40, an A-Z guide to entertainment from page 59, and oodles of fashion and beauty from page 73. If, after all of that, you’re hankering for more wedspiration, don’t forget that our back catalogue is available for you to download absolutely free – just head over to www.your-sussex.wedding/free-download. Don’t we spoil you?

Happy planning one and all.

Field Place Manor House & Barns

Nestled in eight acres of beautiful Green Flag award-winning grounds is Grade II listed Field Place Manor House, a fine example of an 18th-century English country house. The house as you see it today boasts an original Georgian façade and portico, providing and elegant entrance and backdrop for your big day. We love the original features of the manor house, which have been restored to their full glory. Records show 14th-century origins, but it’s the interior Jacobean features dating back to 1624 that are the most striking. Among the grounds are the stunning wedding gardens for beautiful photos, as well as an outside playpark to keep the youngest guests entertained. It’s easy to see why Field Place was chosen as the winner of best town or city wedding venue at the national finals of the Wedding Industry Awards in 2020.

Say your “I dos” in the Pavilion Barn. It’s a spacious setting with a beautiful private courtyard and licensed bar, and can accommodate 150 guests. For vows inside the manor you can choose from The Oak Room for 25 guests, and The Chichester Room for 95. Alternatively, if an al fresco ceremony is more your thing, the wedding gardens are available for 150 loved ones, where you’ll be surrounded by gorgeous white planting and soft arches of wisteria.

Receptions take place in the Sussex barn, which radiates warmth through its oak-beamed high ceiling and fairylight canopy. It can seat 120 for the wedding breakfast, and 200 guests can accompany you for the evening.
