Welcome with open arms to another digital edition of Your Sussex Wedding. Well, I think we can all safely say that 2020 hasn’t been the year any of us were expecting, but it’s certainly showed us what we’re all made of. Now, with our beloved weddings firmly back on the agenda, I’m thrilled to see my inbox bursting with readers’ big days once more. So, whether you’ve decided to press ahead with your own, adapted to meet safety guidelines, or you’ve opted to hold fast in favour of a bigger bash, we hope you’ll find inspiration aplenty amongst these pages. There’s never been a right or wrong way when it comes to weddings, and now more than ever you must do what feels best for the two of you.

The Grand Brighton
The Grand Brighton is the original palace by the sea, built as a retreat for the London set, it takes centre stage on Brighton’s famous seafront. Boasting Victorian splendor, stunning architecture and sea views, it mixes sumptuous renaissance-style décor with statement furniture and glossy Art Deco-inspired accents. This historical hotel is centred around a magnificent sweeping spiral staircase, and is just a stone’s throw from Brighton beach.
The fully licensed private event rooms can accommodate anything from intimate gatherings to banquets for 500 guests. The Napoleon and Eugenie suites on the first floor are the hotel’s smallest wedding spaces suitable for 10-24 nearest and dearest. Each encompasses a separate ceremony space, drinks reception and wedding breakfast area, all overlooking the sea, with a picturesque balcony perfect for those all-important photos. With capacities from 60 to 80 you’ll find the Consort Room, The Regent Room and GB2. Then, the largest of all the spaces is the impressive Empress Suite. Extremely flexible it can be utilised as one open space for up to 500 dining and 800 evening guests, or divided into four individual interconnecting suites for weddings from 150 guests. What’s more, the classic design features help to complement a wide range of themes and colour palettes. All of these gorgeous spaces are available for ceremonies as well as receptions.
What’s more, you’ll be treated to a complimentary stay in a deluxe sea-view bedroom, inclusive of breakfast and valet parking, as well as a menu tasting for two of the selected dishes when booking for 50 guests or more.
