As we wave ta-ta and good riddance to 2020, I hope you all had the chance to raise a glass to 2021 with your loved ones, feeling the warmth of hope. To all of you who’ve seen their wedding plans changing by the second of late, I’d like to virtually shake all of you by the hand. Don’t give in! Here at Your Sussex Wedding, we don’t plan to shift in our resolutely optimistic celebration of everything wedding and we love taking you along for the ride. So, let’s support our local wedding industry, so that we can all come out the other side, happy that love won. Come on 2021, you got this!

Let’s start the year with a bang. We’ve got our usual fabulous blend of real weddings (from page 28) and stunning styled shoots (from page 47) that you absolutely won’t want to miss. Hendall Manor Barns

Sitting below the manor itself, Hendall Manor Barns consists of three interconnecting beautiful and historical buildings surrounding an impressive central courtyard with a lawn and raised terrace. What’s more its adjacent 17thcentury sandstone barn can be used for bridal and family accommodation.

The venue is private and discreetly positioned in the heart of the East Sussex countryside with far-reaching views of the gorgeous Downs. Amongst the grounds you’ll find a stunning pond complete with its own walkway, an orchard, pictureperfect fields, private lawns, and gardens. The main house has a striking arched loggia and a stone gazebo within its gardens providing the perfect backdrops for those allimportant photos.

The Stone Barn is a glorious split-level structure licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 150 guests. Almost 100 foot in length, it’s arranged on two distinct levels. The upper half provides a large reception area in addition to the entrance, and access to a raised, south-facing terrace and lawn. The lower half boasts in-filled mullion windows and doorways set into its lovely rough sandstone walls, as well as a tall vaulted roof and oak flooring.

You’ll stay in the lovely Stone Barn for your celebrations, which can seat 120 for a wedding breakfast and allows you to invite 150 for the evening revelries. Plus, you’ll have exclusive use of the other buildings, terrace and lawn for the duration of your day. In fact, you’re encouraged to be as imaginative as you wish with how you use the spaces available. Whether you’re looking for a relaxed yet sophisticated barbeque, a vintage-style tea party or a formal seated wedding breakfast, the buildings can be easily adapted and decorated to realise your dreams.
