June/July 2022

June/July 2022

Finally, the sun is shining! It feels like it’s been a long time coming doesn’t it? As much as I’m very much a winter bunny, I must admit that feeling a warm breeze on my face for a change has cheered me up. My friends and I have decided to compile a bucket list of activities we’d like to enjoy this summer, and plans are well underway for our very own CWM bride’s hen do. If you’re worried about what your best gals might have planned for yours, the best way is to maintain an open line of communication. Make sure you lay down perimeters and make it abundantly clear well in advance if L plates, sashes and the like aren’t your thing. Olivia, Nolwenn and I sat bride Melissa down for a chat first to make sure we didn’t make any faux pas and asked her to provide us with a guest list and options for available dates. No doubt you’ll have been careful about your bridesmaid choices, they love you and know you well, so we’re sure you’re in capable hands. Relax and enjoy the break from planning everything yourself.

You’ll find this, our summer issue, brimming with plenty of inspiration and advice as always. We take a look into planning an outdoor wedding. With the new law surrounding saying “I do” al fresco, it’s certainly something many more of you may be considering. We’re also delighted to present to you our A-Z guide to wedding catering, packed with delicous ideas. After all, happy tummies = happy guests!

Enjoy and keeeep planning!

Lordington Lavender

With a whole field of vibrant, fragrant lavender at your disposal, Lordington Lavender provides a magnificent setting. Guests can enjoy spectacular views, wander through rows upon rows of gorgeous purple blooms and enjoy all the charm of a rural wedding with a twist. Located on a family farm, Lordington is the only lavender field in West Sussex.

The picturesque lavender field blooms in rows of magnificent purple throughout July and offers an idyllic backdrop for your celebrations and photos. With no public access or sight lines, you’re completely enveloped in the natural beauty of the South Downs and free to enjoy the glorious views at your leisure.

Ceremonies can be held anywhere in the field – among the lavender or in the grassy areas bordered by wild flowers. Let your imagination run wild as you choose the spot that’s perfect for you.

A large, traditional pole marquee provides ample space for dining and dancing and the grass spaces that surround it offer additional room and flexibility. You can also say “I do” here, under canvas. While the team is on hand to make recommendations and offer assistance, you have free reign to design the exclusive wedding experience you’re looking for. Starter packages include a marquee that will seat 170, but there’s potential for more. In fact, capacity is unlimited, budget permitting. Think canapés and fizz amongst the fragrant rows, guests snapping selfies against vivid purple backdrops and partying under canvas and bunting long after the busy butterflies have flown to bed!

What your wedding favours say about you

The wholesale experts at WholesaleSweets.co.uk have looked at the sweet treats a couple chooses and what it says about them. Wedding favours are usually a small, fun and sweet way of saying thank you to guests for attending a wedding. Traditionally wedding favours were sugared coated almonds but over the years people have put their own spin on wedding favours and now give out things like sweets, jars of honey or jam and even mini shots. Kathryn Hague from Wholesale Sweets said: "Wedding favours have been around for years and it's really interesting to see what people choose for them these days.
