Your Sussex Wedding - June/July 2022 (Issue 97)

I wore a Stella York gown similar to the style I’d been saving pictures of. I didn’t want a huge princess dress, but rather something more elegant and subtle. Chris wore a grey suit with a pink tie. The groomsmen wore the same, but with ivory buttonholes, whereas Chris’ was pink. Our son was also dressed to match. The bridesmaids wore silvery grey bridesmaid dresses, fitted at the top and flowy in the skirt. Chris’ sister had undergone life-threatening surgery just a few weeks before the wedding having been dangerously unwell. She had therefore told us that she wouldn’t be able to be a bridesmaid. But on the morning, she put the dress on and walked down the aisle for her brother. Our wedding favours were little white boxes containing sweets. Each one had a wooden heart attached bearing our names and wedding date REAL WEDDINGS 41
