Your Sussex Wedding - December 2021/January 2022 (Issue 94)

WITH ME Sail away Amy and Niall’s nautically-themed nuptials took place at The Gallivant on 6th August, 2021 Images courtesy of AE Photography Niall and Amy met on a cruise ship in 2010 – she was a singer and dancer, he was a cadet. They started chatting during a night on the town in Barbados and Amy remembers, “Niall plied me with too much pineapple rum.” Niall proposed at one of the couple’s favourite spots: The White Cliffs of Dover. It was one of the first places they’d visited together and with the ships in the background it fitted in perfectly with their story. The pair had planned to tie the knot in Thailand, but gave up hope when Covid travel restrictions made it quite impossible. After postponing twice, they began looking for a venue closer to home. Amy explains, “The Gallivant was perfect for us, because it fitted our relaxed beach theme. The main draw was its exclusivity as well as the staff who were super-organised and friendly. It was a bit of a gamble, as we’d only been able to view the venue online, but it was definitely one that paid off as we couldn’t have loved it more.” Join us as the bride gives us the lowdown on their gorgeous wedding day...
