Let it shine

Let it shine: Image 1

The Shine Bar is a luxury shampoo bar developed by hairdressers to deliver professional haircare results with the convenience of an easy to use bar.

What they say:

With an uplifting citrus aroma and containing quinoa to help prolong the life of hair colour. The formulation means no waste product, no bulky plastic bottles and no mess, while the handy reusable storage tin makes it perfect for travel or to take to the gym. Created using naturally derived ingredients, the bar also lasts up to four times longer than a standard bottle of liquid shampoo.

What we say:

When details of this product first popped into my inbox I had to read it twice – a bar?! I love trying products that I'm either cynical about or intrigued by and this ticked both boxes, so I had to put it to the test.

The Shine Bar in it's smart little tin, immediately radiates a gentle citrus aroma. First impressions are: it looks like a normal bar of soap. So, standard procedure: wet hair under the shower and here goes. I lathered the soap up in my hands as you would at the sink, then smoothed that lather into my hair. Straight away I was totally surprised how such a small amount of product worked beautifully into my hair creating a rich foam and that satisfying feeling that it's doing it's job.

We're told that it's gentle enough to be used everyday, which is great for me as I do need to wash my hair each morning and this was so quick. It washed out super fast, leaving my hair with that squeaky clean feeling. I didn't use any conditioner as I wanted to see how it was without. I would say it most likely depends on the length of your hair as to whether you need to couple with another product. Mine is just above shoulder length and seemed perfectly fine without.

Given the rebellious step going sans conditioner, I was expecting to pay the price with tangles, but not so. My brush went through my hair like a dream and I dried and styled as usual. I was ready to go a full 15minutes earlier than usual and arrived at CWM HQ early to get writing this review! I'd definitely recommend The Shine Bar.

The Shine Bar is priced at £9.50 and is available to buy at www.shineshampoobars.co.uk and selected independent stockists.
