Horsted Place
Horsted Place is an elegant Victorian country house, complete with high ceilings, a Pugin staircase and even a secret door in the library. This is a welcoming venue that offers a warm log fire in the winter and large windows full of sunshine on a summer’s day. Built in 1851, this is widely considered one of the finest examples of Gothic revivalist architecture in the country – just check out its towers and turrets.
If you’re more interested to step outside, it’s also home to beautiful gardens designed by renowned gardener Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe and eight acres of grounds, including a woodland area. As you can imagine, this is stunning in all seasons and offering numerous photographic opportunities, from the bluebell woods in spring to the south-facing terrace and sunken garden.
